Ballet Austin – Wow!
I had a meeting with Cookie Ruiz over at Ballet Austin. I got the chance to tour the new Butler Dance Education Center and all I can say is, wow. Downtown Austin just got a whole lot more exciting. If you get a chance, check out their grand opening celebration this Sunday. The Paramount is hosting most of their season this year while the Long Center is completed. I hear it’s still on time for a spring opening…
On Saturday be sure to join us for the second annual Arts Run – Austin’s most entertaining 5K and Kids K. Runners are encouraged to dress as their favorite film or stage star…last year I came as Sponge Bob Square Pants. What will I be this year? Runners last year told us this was one of the best runs in town…food, live music, even a magician running in a straight jacket!
Speaking of favorite film stars – the Paramount is screening Gone With the Wind this weekend and upstairs we’ll be showcasing a collection of costumes from the movie. The collection has been flown in by American Airlines especially for our screening…
