Wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom!

Although the curtain went up right at 8PM, Little Richard didn’t take the stage until well after 9:00.   But that was OK because opening act, Mingo Fishtrap, was fantastic.  Many patrons asked me “who are they?” and “where are they from?”.  Here is the link.  During Little Richard’s early years his opening acts included The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.  Tonight he proved that his opening acts are still worth sitting through.

If you have always wanted to see Little Richard live, time might be running out.  At 75 the artist is beginning to show signs of seriously slowing down.  Tonight he got to the stage via a pair of crutches.  Once he sat down at the piano bench, he didn’t get back up until the show came to an end almost an hour and half later.  While we didn’t see the wild and wacky Little Richard that many expected, we did see an entertainer that has earned respect.  OK…and much of the wackiness came through.   I, for one, am now a fan and I am glad I saw him at age 75 vs. not at all.
