Did you know that there are over 100,000 non-profit arts organizations in the United States? Combined they represent over $63 billion in annual expenditures and 2.6 million jobs.
The cultural sector (film, visual media, performing and visual arts, and arts related tourism) is a major industrial sector of the Austin economy representing $2.2 billion in annual economic activity and 44,000 jobs.
85 percent of Austin residents think the arts improve the quality of life in our community and more people in Austin attended cultural arts events last year than sporting events.
